Sales Engineer – Automation Technology (m/f/d)

Do you have experience in process automation and enjoy translating complex technical solutions into clear, compelling value for customers? This role offers the opportunity to combine your engineering knowledge with strong sales and relationship-building skills to drive business growth in a highly specialized field. You’ll be working on tailored system solutions in automation, networking, and protection technologies for critical infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales initiatives in process automation: Lead and coordinate sales activities to introduce and expand a portfolio of automation and control solutions.
  • Develop tailored technical proposals: Analyse customer requirements, perform technical assessments, collaborate with engineering teams, and translate solutions into detailed commercial offers.
  • Manage client relationships: Build and maintain long-term partnerships with both technical and commercial stakeholders through consistent engagement and support.
  • Lead negotiations and support project delivery: Take ownership of contract discussions and provide commercial guidance throughout project execution.
  • Monitor market trends and competition: Track competitor activity and industry developments to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.

Your Profile

  • Proven experience in sales within an electrical engineering-related field (e.g. automation, communications, or IT)
  • Strong understanding of process control and automation systems is highly desirable
  • Fluency in German and good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with industrial systems such as SIMATIC, HIMAX, WinCC OA, or ZENON is a plus
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like PROFINET, OPC UA, MQTT, or BACnet is advantageous
