Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales of ABB's Continuous Water Analysis (CWA) solutions as well as UviTec optical process analytics within the Measurement & Analytics Business Line.

You will support industrial customers as well as municipal water and wastewater utilities in optimizing their processes through continuous online analytical solutions. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will work closely with customers to develop tailored solutions for water, wastewater, and process analytics applications.

Leveraging your expertise, you will build long-term customer relationships, increase customer satisfaction, and identify new market opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

This role supports the Analytical Business Line within the West Germany sales region. The focus is on developing and expanding long-term customer relationships in the municipal water and wastewater sector as well as in the Food & Beverage, Pulp & Paper, and Power industries. You will collaborate closely with end customers, engineering companies, EPC contractors, system integrators, and internal teams including Inside Sales, Service, Application Engineering, and Marketing.

You will become part of a dynamic team where you can grow professionally while contributing to ABB's success.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive sales of ABB Continuous Water Analysis and UviTec solutions within the assigned sales region.
  • Identify new customers and application opportunities in municipal and industrial water, wastewater, and ultrapure water treatment.
  • Provide technical consultation to end customers, engineering companies, EPC contractors, and system integrators.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through professional technical consulting.
  • Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and technical workshops.
  • Develop customer-specific solution concepts together with ABB Project Engineers.
  • Create, manage, and follow up on sales opportunities through to successful contract closure.
  • Maintain and continuously develop the sales pipeline in Salesforce CRM.
  • Monitor market and competitor developments while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Represent ABB at trade fairs, seminars, and customer events.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Water Management, or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Ideally, you have sales experience in process analytics or water analysis and understand the requirements of industrial customers as well as municipal utilities.
  • You have solid knowledge of continuous liquid analysis and a good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes. Experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants as well as ultrapure water applications is considered an advantage.
  • You are able to build, maintain, and further develop long-term customer relationships.
  • You work independently while collaborating effectively with others and possess strong communication and presentation skills.
  • You are fluent in German and have a good command of English.
