Security Team Lead

Overview

We’re looking for a Security Lead to set the technical direction for security across our Platform Team while staying hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Set the security architecture roadmap: threat modeling, control framework, and key projects (data classification, secrets mgmt, IAM hardening, supply chain)
• Drive residual risk down: own the risk list, sequence the work, and report to leadership monthly
• Lead and mentor security engineers, GRC engineers, and IT staff (1:1s, growth, performance)
• Be the security partner for Engineering and Product on new initiatives; co-own audit readiness with GRC; set paved-road patterns for fast, safe delivery
• Stay hands-on: ship automation and services, harden cloud and code, catch threats early

Qualifications

• Deep IC experience — e.g., has set the security direction for a meaningful org
• Has managed or tech-led 2–4 engineers before (formally or as tech lead with people responsibilities)
• Exposed to Backend / SRE (Python, Bash, Terraform)
• Strong on AWS, IAM, Kubernetes, secrets management, vulnerability management, threat modeling, DevSecOps in CI/CD
• 5+ years in product / application / cloud security at a SaaS company
• Track record of measurably reducing org-wide risk (not just running programs)
• Influences without authority; can pull Engineering and Product toward the right call
• Experience prepping for SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001
• Security certifications (CISSP, CKS, AWS Security)
• Fintech or regulated industry experience
