Senior ABAP Developer – S/4HANA Retail

Responsibilities

Design and develop ABAP applications within an SAP S/4HANA Retail environment.
Implement RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) solutions and OData services.
Develop and optimise Core Data Services (CDS) Views across analytical, consumption and interface layers.
Develop and optimise performance‑critical ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
Review, maintain, refactor and improve the existing ABAP custom codebase.
Ensure development quality, maintainability and adherence to technical standards.
Produce technical documentation and solution designs for new features and enhancements.
Work closely with SAP functional teams to analyse requirements and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Provide knowledge transfer, technical guidance and mentoring to internal development teams.
Support application performance analysis and optimisation where required.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of professional ABAP development experience or equivalent demonstrable expertise.
Strong hands‑on development experience with modern ABAP technologies.
Experience working on at least one production SAP S/4HANA implementation.
Hands‑on experience implementing RAP‑based OData services.
Strong experience developing CDS Views, including analytical, consumption and interface patterns.
Practical experience developing ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
Good understanding of SAP MM and/or SD business processes.
Ability to review, refactor and optimise existing ABAP custom code.
Business‑level English communication skills.
