Senior Accountant, Certified Balance Sheet Accountant

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for finance and accounting function, ensuring figures are always accurate, up to date, and reliable.
• Act as primary point of contact for all financial matters, providing the basis for sound decision‐making in a growing SaaS company.
• Independently perform ongoing financial accounting (accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, bank reconciliations).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB).
• Prepare VAT returns and work closely with tax advisor and auditors.
• Support monthly financial reporting and preparation of key metrics for management and investors.
• Help design and optimise financial processes and tools as the company grows.

Requirements

• Completed advanced training as a Bilanzbuchhalter/in (IHK) or an equivalent qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in finance and accounting, ideally in a dynamic corporate or SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements independently in accordance with HGB.
• Experience with Zoho Books and DATEV (or comparable cloud‑based accounting software) and confident use of MS Office / Google Workspace.
• Structured, thorough and proactive working style, with discretion when handling confidential information.
• Business‑fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
