Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Applied Data Scientist who thrives at the intersection of AI, product thinking, and innovation. The ideal candidate will develop Data Science & ML algorithms to solve complex, real‑world business problems across the team.blue group. This role requires strong analytical skills, programming expertise, problem‑solving ability, data‑wrangling proficiency, excellent communication, and up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest Data Science/ML/AI developments.
Responsibilities
- Break down multi‑domain business problems with a focus on ROI and impact metrics, designing appropriate technical methods from POC to production.
- Develop solutions and extract insights from data using classical machine learning methods and generative AI.
- Own the development, implementation, and automation of robust data science and ML models and pipelines, including feature generation, modeling, evaluation, retraining, and deployment.
- Translate sophisticated analytical findings and model outcomes into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders, driving value and improvements in key business metrics.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and deliver innovative Data Science/ML/AI solutions.
- Conduct research on the latest Data Science/ML/AI developments and apply them to improve our systems.
- Document processes, code, and findings for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of hands‑on industry experience solving data science and machine learning problems across multiple verticals.
- Expert programming skills in Python and SQL, with proficiency in relevant Data Science & ML frameworks (Scikit‑learn, Pandas, PyTorch, etc.).
- Ability to think from first principles and operate independently while clarifying under‑specified problems.
- Deep understanding of statistical and ML algorithms, from SVMs to deep learning and LLMs.
- Experience owning the end‑to‑end lifecycle of ML/AI projects, from conception to containerization.
- History of implementing projects that entered production and had measurable impact.
- Proficiency in applying statistical concepts (regressions, A/B tests, clustering, probability) to business problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to craft analysis into persuasive content.
- Collaborative mindset for working with cross‑functional teams.
Nice to Have Skills
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, AI, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, or related fields.
- Deep understanding of current DataOps & MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and ETL pipelines.
- Experience in AI/ML research & development.
- Experience across startups and enterprise firms.
- Experience with distributed data tools (e.g., Spark, Dask, Apache Arrow) and observability frameworks (OTel).
