Senior Auditor Internal Controls EMEA (m/f/d)

In this role, you will lead and oversee SOX 404 audits across the EMEA region, ensuring ICFR alignment with US and EU frameworks. You will mentor audit staff, coordinate with external auditors, and drive remediation of control gaps. Your work supports reliable financial reporting and regulatory compliance in a global, cross-functional setting. You will shape internal control practices and deliver impactful insights to senior management.

• Lead and supervise SOX 404 audits across EMEA entities, including design and operating effectiveness testing and remediation tracking
• Ensure alignment with US SOX requirements and EU audit frameworks
• Coordinate with external auditors and local finance teams on readiness and testing strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies
• Evaluate internal controls across financial, operational, and ITGC domains (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, fixed asset management)
• Design efficient solutions to drive operational efficiencies and reduce risk of misstatements
• Identify best practices from internal control perspective and support process improvements
• Review audit documentation and ensure quality and regulatory alignment
• Identify control gaps, propose remediation plans, and oversee implementations
• Support audit tools (AuditBoard) and global testing strategy
• Provide SOX guidance during system implementations and process changes
• Deliver training and awareness sessions on SOX and internal controls
• Prepare and present audit reports and SOX status updates to senior management

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 5–7 years of audit experience, including SOX-focused roles in multinational environments
• Big 4 experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of SOX 404, COSO, EU Audit Directive, and IFRS
• Familiarity with audit management platforms (AuditBoard, Workiva)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Proficiency in English and German
• CPA, CIA, or equivalent European certification preferred
