Senior Avionics Engineer

In this role you will strengthen our in-house avionics capabilities to scale flight and test hardware for propulsion systems. You’ll work in a lean team with ownership to translate requirements into robust electronics and software. You’ll lead hardware design, testing, and integration across modules, contributing to the reliability and performance of high-stakes space hardware. The position offers hands-on development from concept to test and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive mission success.

• Plan, manage and conduct hardware designs for avionics modules from concept to test (requirements, architecture, schematic, PCB layout, manufacturing, bring-up)
• Create test plans and support assembly, integration, and bench testing of propulsion hardware
• Manage electronics and avionics projects and develop the avionics lab
• Plan, develop and build prototypes, conduct design reviews, and reengineer boards for reliability, manufacturability and performance
• Integrate hardware, firmware and software; define and maintain ICDs; support propulsion system integration and testing
• Apply EMC, signal/power integrity, derating and radiation mitigation practices relevant to mission requirements

• 5+ years in a relevant area
• Experience with supplier coordination, project management or team management
• Familiar with the space industry and space projects (ideally)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer or a related field
• Experience in building embedded systems end to end
• Working knowledge of EMC design, signal/power integrity, derating and radiation considerations; familiarity with standards is a plus
• System integration across hardware/firmware/software; comfort with ICDs, harnessing and test benches
• Knowledge of C/C++ and Python for firmware development, test automation and data analysis
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus
