Senior Azure Synapse Developer (f/m/d)

Position Overview

Senior Azure Synapse Developer at our Headquarter in Cologne (fully remote within Germany is also an option) . Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑scalable data solutions using Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes with Azure Synapse
• Optimize query performance and troubleshoot complex data processing issues
• Collaborate with data architects to design efficient data models and storage strategies
• Work with business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions

Qualifications

• Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines using Synapse
• Knowledge of data integration patterns and ETL/ELT processes
• Experience with data formats such as JSON and Parquet
• Advanced T‑SQL programming skills for query optimization and performance tuning
• Proficiency in writing stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
• Experience in consuming and designing REST APIs for data integration, with authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, service principals)
• Strong understanding of data modeling for OLTP and OLAP systems
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for data platforms, including CI/CD pipelines
• Fluent in spoken and written English
