Senior backend Developer

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems, APIs, and cloud services. You will work closely with AI engineers, frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps specialists to deliver high-performance, secure, and reliable solutions. You will play a key role in defining technical architecture, mentoring team members, and ensuring engineering best practices across the backend ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications and services.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices to support AI-powered products.
• Develop integrations with machine learning models, AI services, and third‑party platforms.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data pipelines.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead code reviews and promote high‑quality coding standards.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision‑making.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technology selection.
• Support CI/CD processes and cloud infrastructure deployments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as: Python (FastAPI, Django), Node.js (NestJS, Express), Java (Spring Boot), Go.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI-powered applications or integrating Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of GraphQL and real-time communication technologies.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
