Senior Backend Engineer - Energy Management Platform (all genders)

In this role, you will own backend features end-to-end, turning requirements into scalable, observable production solutions. You’ll tackle complex, cross-team challenges to improve reliability and performance of the cloud EMS platform that orchestrates DERs. You’ll shape API design, documentation, and architectural direction, while mentoring others and driving initiatives that elevate system-wide resilience. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position at a mission-driven energy tech company.

• Own features end-to-end from analysis to production and iteration
• Identify and implement pragmatic solutions to technical challenges beyond tickets
• Investigate, resolve, and learn from complex distributed system incidents
• Improve system stability, performance, and scalability as the fleet grows
• Maintain clear API specifications and component documentation
• Drive cross-team architectural decisions and scalable integration patterns
• Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions
• Write design documents and RFCs to align teams and enable async decision-making

• Deep backend engineering background with production systems experience
