Senior Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a senior backend engineer who thinks like a product builder, thrives in a cross-functional team, and is passionate about scalable financial infrastructure. You’ll own and evolve a product area that serves hundreds of thousands of businesses across Europe. Your deep .NET and C# expertise will be central to shipping reliable, performance-optimised applications while collaborating across backend, frontend, mobile, ML/AI, and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Ship high-quality, maintainable .NET/C# code, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Design and evolve distributed and data-intensive systems in a regulated environment.
• Pioneer architectural decisions, challenge assumptions, and identify product improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-disciplinary engineers to design end-to-end solutions.
• Own code quality through automated testing, thorough code reviews, and security best practices.
• Mentor teammates, contribute to process improvement, and proactively address customer issues.

Your experience includes

• At least 5 years of professional backend development with a product engineering mindset.
• Excellent knowledge of the .NET platform and C#.
• Hands-on experience architecting and evolving distributed systems in production.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers from other disciplines.
• Strong business acumen—understanding how work connects to company objectives.
• Clear, concise communication in English across technical and non-technical audiences.
• A builder’s mentality: passionate about shipping high-quality products, not just neat code.

Our tech stack

• Backend: .NET/C#, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes, GCP.
• Frontend & mobile: React (Web), Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android); Python/ML frameworks; modern test automation tools such as Playwright and Appium.
