Senior Business Controller (m/f/d)

In this role you will lead the Germany finance team for J&J Innovative Medicine, acting as a trusted partner to the Senior Finance Director and management board. You drive financial performance, planning, governance, and strategic decision-making, overseeing end-to-end planning, forecasting, and reporting while maintaining robust controls. You collaborate with cross-functional partners to manage expenses, support launches, and steer resource allocation. This position offers impact across regional finance and the evolution of the finance function in a global company.

• Lead end-to-end financial planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles for Germany with local and EMEA stakeholders.
• Own the business planning process, challenge assumptions with strong financial judgement.
• Build and maintain relationships with heads of commercial, marketing, medical, market access, BI, etc., to manage expenses and sales forecasting.
• Support product launches, including complex agreements and market access decisions.
• Drive achievement of financial targets through analysis and decision support; present results to regional and local leadership.
• Lead and develop a local team of controllers and collaborate with regional, tax, compliance, audit, and global services.
• Support global finance transformation programs, digitalization, and standardization efforts.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, efficiency, and ways of working.
• Lead cross-functional projects to ensure alignment with strategic goals and organizational objectives.
• Ensure high standards of compliance across daily finance activities and internal controls.

• 8–10 years of relevant finance experience with strong business partnering, forecasting, planning, and analytics.
• Bachelor in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• CPA, CFA, CMA or similar local certification advantageous.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
• Strong analytical, accuracy, and attention to detail; solid FP&A and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage ambiguity in a dynamic environment and deliver results with execution discipline.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills across cross-functional teams.
• Interest in finance transformation and digitalization; experience with SAP, Anaplan, Power BI.
