Job Title: Senior Business Unit Controller (m/f/d) – Finance Business Partner, SAP FI/CO

Location: Berlin, Germany

Our client is one of Germany's leading providers of security documents and digital identity solutions, trusted by government institutions and enterprises nationwide to safeguard sensitive data and critical infrastructure. As the business expands its digital business units, they're looking for a Senior Business Unit Controller to take independent ownership of a digital unit and act as strategic finance partner to its leadership.

This is a 12-month temporary staffing placement (AÜG) based in Berlin, starting mid-October 2026, with 50% home office and a target salary of €65,000–€102,000 gross/year depending on experience.

What you'll do:

• Own a digital business unit as its dedicated controller, acting as commercial sparring partner to management
• Review and approve offer/product calculations and profitability assessments
• Build scenario and sensitivity analyses to support key decisions
• Drive KPI reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and monthly/annual closing
• Deliver ad-hoc analyses and data-driven business insights

What you'll need:

• Degree in Business, Economics, Business Informatics, Engineering or similar
• Several years' experience in Business Controlling (Business Unit Controller / Commercial Controller / Finance Business Partner)
• Hands-on business case, offer calculation and investment appraisal experience
• Confident SAP (FI/CO/MM/SD) and advanced Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint) skills
• Fluent German (C2)
• Two personal references covering the last 60 months (mandatory)

Nice to have:

understanding of digital business models, senior stakeholder management experience, knowledge of public pricing law (öffentliches Preisrecht).
