Senior Cloud Application Engineer

Are you an experienced OpenStack Engineer looking to work with modern cloud infrastructure? Join our team and help build, operate and continuously improve innovative public and private cloud platforms.

We're looking for a technically skilled professional with strong Linux and OpenStack expertise who enjoys solving complex challenges and automating infrastructure at scale.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, operate and enhance public and private cloud platforms based on OpenStack.
• Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of cloud services as part of our CLOUD4EUROPE strategy.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Operate and maintain Ceph-based storage clusters using cephadm.
• Automate infrastructure configuration and service deployment using Ansible and Kolla containers.
• Work with a broad range of OpenStack services, including Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance and Cinder.
• Support the reliability, performance and scalability of cloud infrastructure.

Your Profile

• A degree in Computer Science, relevant IT training or equivalent professional experience.
• At least two years of hands-on experience operating OpenStack environments.
• Strong Linux administration skills and experience with networking technologies such as BGP, DNS, NTP, load balancing and overlay networks.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
• Knowledge of Ceph storage, ideally including cephadm.
• Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and OpenStack deployment using Kolla containers.
• Knowledge of monitoring and infrastructure tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch is an advantage.
• A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Very good German and English language skills.
