Senior Compliance Advisor, Customs Operation

The Senior Compliance Advisor, Customs Operation is based in Hamburg, Germany, and will actively contribute to compliance and risk minimization by understanding legal requirements and internal work processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure implementation in the organization.
• Participate and carry out external and internal audits.
• Propose, participate, and lead customs related projects.
• Generate business intelligence.
• Assist and develop in‑house training.
• Support the Customs Operations organization as a subject matter expert.
• Work actively with risk management and report deviations.
• Support the Country Compliance Manager in the area.
• Initiate and/or attend meetings with customers and authorities.
• Monitor and follow up on customs claims at the country level.

Qualifications

• Experience and competence within the customs business.
• Experienced compliance advisor.
• Ability to develop internal tools for compliance.
• Experience communicating with authorities.
• Participation or leadership in certifications/audits of quality assurance programs (AEO, ISO, etc.).
• Support of the quality control audit process.
• Support of the customs transit process and ability to deal with appeals and statements to authorities.
• Assistance with adaptation and implementation of internal procedures.
