Senior Compliance Officer – Global Markets Advisory (m/f/d)

As Senior Compliance Officer, you partner with Global Markets to deliver legally sound, commercially aware compliance guidance across multiple asset classes, focusing on trading, engineering and sales activities. You will steer regulatory risk, implement a robust control framework, and collaborate with local and group teams to sustain a strong compliance culture. This role offers exposure to a leading international wholesale banking platform and opportunities to grow alongside the business’ ambitious expansion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and regulators, shaping practical risk management for dynamic markets.

• Act as a trusted Compliance partner to Global Markets and other business lines, maintaining strong relationships and early engagement on requirements
• Provide pragmatic, risk-based Compliance advice to Global Markets and other units
• Maintain proactive dialogue with Global Markets Compliance and Risk functions to ensure consistent issue resolution
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess local implementation needs
• Advise on Compliance and regulatory aspects of new products and initiatives
• Adapt and maintain Group policies and local procedures in line with SG requirements
• Contribute to designing an effective monitoring and control framework to prevent and detect risks
• Identify, report and manage incidents and advise on remediation
• Leverage innovative techniques (including AI where appropriate) to enhance risk management
• Support oversight, governance and reporting responsibilities for Compliance
• Perform, drive and participate in SG Compliance risk assessments and action plans
• Develop and deliver regular Compliance trainings for onboarding and topic-specific sessions
• Maintain regulator contacts and respond to regulatory inquiries and audits
• Collaborate with local and other Compliance teams including trade and financial crime controls
• Support leadership development within the Compliance team
• Ensure timely, accurate regulatory reporting and action follow-ups
• Engage with regulators and authorities regarding audits and supervisory requests
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across Compliance and risk control functions
• Prepare for broader responsibilities and leadership opportunities

• 10+ years of relevant financial services experience
• Proven interaction with BaFin or other regulators
• Strong knowledge of Global Markets regulatory framework (MAD II/MAR, MiFID II/MiFIR, Transparency Directive)
• Fluent German and English; French advantageous
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills for senior stakeholders
• Structured, reliable, multi-priority work style
• Strong risk judgement with practical recommendations
• Digital and technical proficiency (MS Office; Copilot; basic programming a plus)
