Overview

The (Senior) Consultant Project Excellence manages work packages and smaller projects within the life sciences sector. The role applies established project management methods to deliver work within scope, timeline and budget while supporting governance, client engagement and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage work packages or smaller projects independently, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timeline and budget.
• Apply project management principles such as PMI or PRINCE2 to plan, structure and execute life sciences projects.
• Lead project components including planning, risk and dependency management, stakeholder engagement and documentation.
• Support project governance through status reporting, steering committee preparation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Analyse project performance, KPIs and lessons learned to identify process, tool and methodology improvements.
• Develop and improve project templates, best practices and tools for life sciences project delivery.
• Manage day-to-day client and stakeholder interactions, including onboarding, workshops, project reviews and expectation management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, support knowledge sharing and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Identify opportunities to extend existing engagements and contribute to proposals, client pitches, case studies and whitepapers.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field.

• Strong client engagement, facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
• Analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to make risk-based decisions, manage uncertainty and adjust plans as requirements evolve.
• Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams, prioritise tasks and support delegation.
• Fluent written and spoken English and German.

Experience and Knowledge

• 3 - 5years of project management experience within life sciences or another regulated industry.
• Hands-on experience with project planning, scheduling, risk management, stakeholder communication and governance reporting.
• Strong knowledge of PMI, PRINCE2 or an equivalent methodology, including project lifecycles, work breakdown structures and scheduling.
• Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet or JIRA.
• Experience tracking budgets, KPIs and project performance metrics.
• Understanding of operational excellence methods such as Lean or Six Sigma, and experience with resource or capacity planning.
• Knowledge of the life sciences industry and GxP or other compliance considerations affecting project delivery.
