Responsibilities

  • Shape optimized cross‑system architectures, concepts, standards, and modular platforms, taking strategic, technical, and business aspects into account while closely collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Drive changes across horizontal and vertical interfaces and engage colleagues to establish inter‑ and intra‑architectural standards as well as sustainable synergies.
  • Support Business Area and Business Line architects as well as development teams in defining architecture specifications, system models, risk analyses, safety and test concepts, and user stories and epics.
  • Work as part of a team of system and software architects and actively build networks internally and externally to continuously integrate relevant technologies, methods, and trends into your architecture work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, natural sciences, or computer science, combined with solid professional experience in systems engineering, system architecture, or a comparable field.
  • Proven ability to design and structure complex systems.
  • PhD in a relevant field with several years of professional experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with architecture methods and tools, or the ability to quickly get up to speed with approaches such as MBSE, SysML, UML, product line engineering, and modular platform architecture.
  • Strong understanding of the product lifecycle, ability to identify optimization potential, and translate this into effective solutions.
  • Additional qualifications in system architecture, and familiarity with the Siemens Healthineers product portfolio and its underlying architecture, are a plus.
  • Solid understanding of complex technical systems and their hardware and software components, e.g., computer systems, communication and sensor technologies, logging and monitoring concepts, embedded software, and cooling systems.

Attributes and Skills

  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate confidently in professional and technical contexts.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in global, cross‑functional, and intercultural R&D environments, demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to analyze and structure complex technical systems across domain boundaries and distill them into key architectural decisions, while also having a strong sense for business impact and value creation.
  • Structured and self‑driven work style, quick learning, initiative, and a strong team mindset; passion for solving complex technical problems.
