Senior Data Software Engineer

Our client is a global technology market leader , operating at massive scale with hundreds of millions of active users every month across multiple international markets.

They are expanding their International Data Platform team and are hiring multiple Senior Data Software Engineers to help design and build the next generation of their data-driven systems.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and backend software engineering , working in a highly distributed microservices architecture where reliability, performance, and scalability are critical.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Architecting and building large-scale, data-intensive distributed systems that operate at global scale
• Designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines (batch & streaming) using PySpark and Kafka
• Developing production-grade backend services and APIs in Python and Golang
• Working within a cloud-native AWS environment , leveraging managed and self-hosted services
• Deploying and operating services on Kubernetes , with infrastructure defined using Terraform
• Collaborating closely with platform, product, and analytics teams to expose data via reliable APIs
• Owning systems end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimisation
• Continuously improving platform engineering standards around observability, reliability, and performance

Tech Environment

• Languages: Python, PySpark, Golang
• Messaging / Streaming: Kafka
• DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code

What You Bring

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong exposure to Python and/or Golang
• Proven experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production
• Strong background in data engineering , including end-to-end data pipelines processing high-volume datasets
• Deep hands-on experience with PySpark in production environments
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures , with AWS as your primary cloud platform
• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• A systems-level mindset: you care about scalability, resilience, performance, and clean architecture
