Senior Database Architect (m/f/d)

As our Senior Database Administrator, you design future-ready data architectures and deliver robust, scalable database solutions across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. You’ll partner with development and cross-functional teams to ensure security, performance, and availability, while driving upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime. You’ll mentor junior DBAs and maintain thorough technical documentation in an international, mission-driven environment aiming to shape the healthcare system of the future.

• Manage installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases
• Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams to support database requirements and enforce security policies
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance; implement backup and recovery strategies
• Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and consolidations with minimal downtime and best practices
• Mentor junior DBAs and create maintainable technical documentation; communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• 5+ years hands-on experience managing MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases
• Completed IT degree or comparable qualification in database management and system operations
• Strong expertise in T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, and PL/SQL; proficient with SSMS, pgAdmin, Oracle SQL Developer
• Experience with high availability solutions (Always On, Streaming Replication, Data Guard) and backup/recovery technologies
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams
• Initiative, reliability, continuous improvement mindset; very good German and English skills
