Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer – Industrial Ethernet & Connectivity

I'm currently looking for a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to support the development of advanced industrial sensing and measurement technology in Bavaria.

This is a highly technical opportunity for an experienced engineer who combines bare-metal firmware development with Industrial Ethernet and embedded communications expertise .

What you'll be working on

• Development and enhancement of bare-metal embedded firmware
• Embedded development using C/C++ and Python
• Integration of EtherNet/IP, Ethernet-APL and Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE)
• Integration of communication functionality into industrial sensing and measurement devices
• Analysis and troubleshooting of existing embedded architectures
• Firmware debugging, testing and system integration
• Collaboration with software, electronics and product-development engineers
• Taking technical ownership of complex development tasks

What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll bring strong experience with:

• Embedded C/C++
• Python
• EtherNet/IP
• Ethernet-APL (Advanced Physical Layer)
• Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE)
• Embedded systems integration and debugging
• Industrial sensors, instrumentation, automation or connected devices

Experience combining bare-metal firmware + EtherNet/IP + Ethernet-APL/SPE would be particularly interesting.

The ideal profile

We're looking for a senior, hands-on engineer who can quickly understand an unfamiliar embedded system, operate independently and require minimal supervision.

Engineers coming from industrial automation, process instrumentation, sensor technology, Industrial Ethernet or embedded connectivity backgrounds are particularly relevant.

You'll need to be available onsite in Bavaria for approximately the first 1–2 months for integration and onboarding. Increased remote working can potentially be offered afterwards.
