Senior Engineer - Building Automation Data Centre

As Senior Engineer - Building Automation at Arup, you help design, implement and oversee automation for mission-critical data centres. You join an international, multidisciplinary team delivering reliable, efficient solutions from concept to handover. You’ll shape controls for mechanical and electrical systems and ensure delivery quality, compliance and sustainability. • Design controls and automation systems for operation and monitoring of mission-critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure, from concept to handover
• Prepare, review and own design deliverables ensuring quality, coordination and client alignment
• Collaborate with data centre clients and MEP design teams to develop robust, cost-efficient and sustainable solutions
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences and apply industry standards and trends across regions
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to deliver integrated data centre projects across multiple phases
• Support project delivery from design through construction supervision to final handover

• 6+ years designing controls and automation for building services or industrial infrastructure
• Data centre experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of German and international codes and BIM-based delivery, with experience using relevant controls, automation and design software tools
• Proven ability to own design deliverables, manage quality and timelines, and coordinate tasks across project teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluent in English and good German
