Senior Engineer – Intelligent Vehicle Technology Planning (m/f/d)

In this role you will strengthen Huawei’s Intelligent Vehicle Technology Planning team in Munich, focusing on European tech scouting, collaborations, and strategic partnerships. You will translate technical insights into research projects and roadmaps, engage researchers and industry partners, and help shape future automotive solutions. Expect international travel and active participation in conferences and industry events. This position offers the chance to influence core technology directions across Autonomous Driving, AI, and vehicle software domains.

• Identify and engage external innovation resources across Europe (universities, research institutes, startups, industry organizations) in areas like Autonomous Driving, Intelligent Cockpit, Vehicle Control, Automotive AI, Smart Optical, and Software-Defined Vehicles
• Track emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for future products and business growth
• Transform technical insights into research collaborations, technology projects, and strategic partnerships with internal R&D and product teams
• Participate in international conferences and industry events to build a strong academic and industry network
• Produce technology intelligence reports, competitive analysis, and strategic recommendations to support technology roadmaps and innovation planning
• Willingness to travel (30%+ annually)

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in relevant fields (as stated)
• Strong interest and understanding of intelligent vehicle technologies (Autonomous Driving, Intelligent Cockpit, Automotive AI, Vehicle Software Platforms, Vehicle Electronics)
• Excellent technology research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to translate trends into actionable insights
• Strong communication and networking skills with confidence to engage researchers, professors, industry experts, and business partners
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Self-motivated, curious about emerging technologies, willing to travel frequently across Europe and internationally
