Senior Engineer - R&D in Medium Voltage Power Conversion Systems

Overview

In this role you will lead R&D on novel MV power conversion architectures for Huawei’s Digital Power Lab. You’ll design, prototype, and validate new converter concepts and collaborate with external institutes to advance MV power electronics. You will generate technology insights, pursue IP filings, and mentor cross-disciplinary engineers. This position offers impact across PV, data centers, EV, and embedded power applications within a globally connected, innovative team.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Lead R&D on novel MV power conversion architectures and converter topologies
  • Perform parameter design, layout, prototype build-up, and validation of new concepts
  • Collaborate with external R&D institutes and universities on converter and control algorithms
  • Formulate technology insights related to MV power conversion
  • Generate novel ideas and protect them with IP filings
  • Lead and mentor cross-discipline R&D engineers
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • PhD or Master’s in power electronics or related field
  • Proven experience in medium voltage, high-power electronics designs
  • Hands-on hardware design experience for multi-level converters, magnetic components, wide band gap devices, and modulation/control
  • Knowledge of MV standards and insulation coordination is desirable
  • Self-driven, autonomous, target-oriented work style with a willingness to learn
  • Occasional travel for projects, seminars, or conferences
  • Fluent in English; German or additional languages a plus
