About the role:

As aSenior Engineer (m/f/d) in theRetail Media Ad Solutions area , you will play a critical role in designing and building high-performance, scalable AdTech solutions that power our growing Retail Media ecosystem. You'll work across the stack, from backend services to customer-facing interfaces, with a strong focus on clean architecture, data performance, and user-centric development. Working closely with your cross-functional team, you’ll help turn complex business needs into robust, end-to-end technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.

About the tech stack:

React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Koa.js, NestJS, MongoDB, Redis, BullMQ, RabbitMQ, Algolia, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Google Cloud Platform, CircleCI, ArgoCD, and integrations with modern ad-serving platforms.

While this is a remote position based in Germany, it may require occasional on-site collaboration at our offices in Berlin or Cologne, depending on business and team requirements.

About your tasks:

• System Architecture & Engineering: Develop and optimizeNode.js/TypeScript-based microservices , focusing on performance, modularity, and scalability. Contribute to architectural decisions that improve system maintainability and reliability.
• Frontend Development: Build and maintainReact applications usingNext.js (Pages Router) andMaterial-UI .Implement advanced form logic usingFormik andJSONSchema validation.Ensure exceptional user experiences through responsive, accessible, and high-performance UI.
• Data & Messaging Systems: Integrate and optimize high-throughput data systems usingMongoDB ,Redis , andAlgolia for real-time ad delivery and insights.Work withBullMQ andRabbitMQ to handle reliable, distributed message queuing and background processing.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and Analytics teams to deliver end-to-end Retail Media features. Participate in sprint planning, technical reviews, and solution discovery to ensure engineering is aligned with business goals.

About you:

• Deep experience buildingscalable microservices andfrontend applications in cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity withAdTech orRetail Media platforms (eg such as Kevel, Google Ad Manager, CitrusAd, TopSort) will be looked upon favourably.
• Committed to writingclean, maintainable, and efficient code , with a strong focus onscalability, testing, and long-term system health .
• Comfortable working inAgile/Scrum teams and contributing proactively to cross-functional initiatives.
• A continuous learner who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys solving real-world business challenges with technology.
• Have AI experience, have integrated it into real systems and shipped features with it.
