Senior Expert Category Development (m/w/d)

In this role you define the strategic category vision across multi-country retail, shaping architecture, assortment, pricing, and navigation. You collaborate with Procurement, Brand, Customer, Supply Chain and country teams to secure cross-functional alignment. You translate commercial insights into scalable category frameworks and rollout standards. You drive performance with a balanced product mix, SKU productivity, and cross-sell opportunities. You will contribute to Europe’s leading pet retailer by shaping growth and execution.

• Define the strategic role and long-term ambition of the category with a multi-year roadmap
• Shape overall category architecture, ensure consistent assortment logic, price structure, and navigation across channels
• Create scalable category blueprints and rollout standards for multi-country implementation
• Provide structured frameworks, guidance, and implementation support to markets to drive adoption and consistency
• Regularly review key commercial indicators and translate insights into actionable improvements
• Collaborate with Procurement, (Exclusive) Brand, Customer, Supply Chain, and country teams for cross-functional alignment
• Strengthen category performance through balanced product mix, improved SKU productivity, and cross-sell/trade-up opportunities
• Drive continuous improvement by testing new approaches, evaluating impact, and scaling proven concepts

• University degree in Business Economics or a related discipline
• Extensive experience in category management, development, or commercial strategy across multi-country retail environments
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with ability to turn insights into scalable commercial models
• Experience across markets with structured implementation and aligning stakeholders
• Ability to influence cross-functional partners at different organizational levels
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
