Overview

In this Senior Expert role, you will serve as the authority on origin rules and free trade agreements, shaping global standards and governance. You’ll drive EU FTAs and other global trade agreements while optimizing supply chains. The position involves translating regulations into internal policies and collaborating across regions to ensure compliant, audit-ready documentation. You will also design and implement digital solutions and leverage data to improve transparency and performance. This role offers impact across procurement, logistics, and compliance within a global team.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Assess, apply, and validate preferential and non-preferential rules of origin and perform origin calculations with supporting documentation
Drive analysis, implementation, and application of EU FTAs and global trade agreements (e.g., USMCA, ASEAN, RCEP) and identify duty-saving opportunities
Translate legal/regulatory requirements into internal policies, procedures, and work instructions
Collaborate with regional/local ECC professionals to ensure consistent Origin & FTA processes and contribute to training and change initiatives
Manage relationships with external stakeholders (customs authorities), support audits, and ensure compliant documentation
Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain, PLM, Sales, and Logistics to optimize Origin & FTA capabilities
Design, specification, implementation, and enhancement of digital solutions for Origin and Preferences (e.g., SAP, SAP GTS, AEB, MIC)
Design and leverage data insights to improve transparency, compliance, and performance

Zentrale Anforderungen

Degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Law, Customs, International Trade, or related field
Extensive experience in customs and trade compliance with a focus on origin and preferences
Deep knowledge of preferential and non-preferential rules of origin and EU FTAs; familiarity with global agreements (USMCA, ASEAN) is desirable
Ability to translate regulations into policies and operational requirements
Strong understanding of supply chain processes (Purchasing, SCM, PLM) and experience with foreign trade systems (SAP, SAP GTS, AEB, MIC)
Experience with change management, system implementations, or process improvements in an international environment
Fluent in English and German; ability to communicate complex topics to international audiences
