Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) - MPU & DNPU (f/m/d)

Overview

As a Senior FAE in NXP’s European robotics-focused team, you bridge customers’ AI and perception needs with NXP’s MPU/DNPU solutions. You influence system architecture from silicon selection to Linux bring-up, enabling on‑device inference for perception, navigation, and HMI. You work with Sales to secure design wins and drive AI-enabled edge deployments for drones. Your expertise accelerates customers’ robotics programs while advancing NXP’s edge‑compute leadership.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Provide technical leadership on edge‑compute architecture, processor selection, bring‑up, and software stack integration for NXP MPU/DNPU platforms targeting robotics.
  • Collaborate with customers to design companion computers, central compute, vision/subsystem and HMI nodes from silicon to OS bring‑up and performance tuning.
  • Perform design support and lab troubleshooting including schematic reviews, bench bring‑up, debugging, and root‑cause analysis across hardware, kernel, drivers and middleware.
  • Enable customer AI/vision/sensor‑fusion workloads on NXP processors for on‑device inference in perception, navigation, and HMI use cases.
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • 10+ years in embedded systems development or applications support of MPU/SoC platforms on embedded Linux with technical leadership
  • Strong embedded Linux across bootloader, kernel, drivers, device tree, Yocto/build system, and user-space integration
  • Proficiency in Python or scripting for tooling and automation
  • Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex‑A and heterogeneous compute architectures
  • Knowledge of high‑speed interfaces (LPDDR, PCIe, USB3.x, MIPI-CSI/DSI, Ethernet, SDIO/eMMC, QSPI)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel
