As a nonprofit supported by the Hasso Plattner Foundation, we build scalable research infrastructures supporting international standards such as FHIR and OMOP in collaboration with leading clinical institutions.

Role Overview

Senior Full‑Stack Engineer working on a medical image annotation application in collaboration with Mount Sinai Health System in New York. Your code supports clinical researchers working with real patient data at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship high‑quality front‑end and back‑end features with accessible, performant, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
• Contribute to software design and architecture decisions, and take part in code reviews across the full stack.
• Work closely with designers, QA, and product management as part of an integrated team to deliver well‑crafted, user‑centered software.
• Engage directly with customers and users, joining feedback sessions and user research to build a deep, end‑to‑end understanding of the product and the problems it solves.
• Design with security at the core, shaping authorization concepts and data protection architecture from the ground up, including documentation for review and sign‑off by clinical partners.

Requirements

• University degree (M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or full‑stack developer, or equivalent experience.
• Strong front‑end skills: deep fluency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands‑on experience in React or equivalent.
• Solid back‑end experience: proficiency in Go (Golang), Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent.
• Experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL is used.
• Professional written and spoken English; German language skills are a plus.
