Senior Full-Stack Developer (f/m/x)

Data4Life is a nonprofit organization that develops secure, standards‑compliant digital health solutions to empower researchers and public health institutions.

We are hiring a Senior Full‑Stack Engineer to work on a medical image annotation application in collaboration with Mount Sinai Health System, supporting clinical researchers working with real patient data at scale.

Your future role

• Design, build, and ship high‑quality frontend and backend features – writing accessible, performant, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
• Contribute to software design and architecture decisions, and take part in code reviews across the full stack.
• Work closely with designers, QA, and product management as part of an integrated team to deliver well‑crafted, user‑centered software.
• Engage directly with customers and users – joining feedback sessions and user research to build a deep, end‑to‑end understanding of the product and the problems it solves.
• Design with security at the core – shaping authorization concepts and data protection architecture from the ground up, including documentation to support review and sign‑off by our clinical partners.

What You Need To Succeed

• A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or full‑stack developer, or equivalent experience.
• Strong frontend skills: deep fluency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands‑on experience in React or an equivalent library.
• Solid backend experience: proficiency in Go (Golang), Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent.
• Experience with relational databases; we use PostgreSQL.
• Professional written and spoken English; German language skills are a plus.
