Senior Full Stack Engineer - WhoSampled

Position

Senior Full Stack Engineer (WhoSampled) – Remote, EMEA (Central European/GMT).

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and frontend interfaces across the stack, following Spotify’s infrastructure patterns.
• Improve metadata matching by evolving database connections to Spotify’s catalog using ML‑assisted approaches (entity resolution, LLM‑powered disambiguation).
• Lead infrastructure modernization, bringing WhoSampled onto more robust, scalable foundations with platform and security stakeholders.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery: design, build, ship, operate, and proactively improve reliability and performance.
• Integrate AI tooling for data quality, operational automation, or developer productivity.

Who You Are

• Senior level with production experience in at least two of backend, frontend, data, infrastructure engineering.
• Strong command of Python (preferably Django) and Java, and familiarity with Postgres schema design, query tuning, and scaling.
• Experience with ElasticSearch (tuning clusters) and modern web apps using TypeScript and React.
• Comfortable deploying on Linux, GCP (or equivalent), and managing networking fundamentals.
• Self‑directed, able to move quickly with limited oversight, and skilled at making pragmatic decisions under ambiguity.
• Practical with AI: already using it to automate toil, improve data quality, or ship faster, and able to evaluate when it adds value.
• Commitment to clean, testable code and documentation that can be handed off.

Location

Remote work within the EMEA region. The team collaborates in Central European and GMT time zones.
