Senior HPE NonStop – Tandem Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for mission critical, high availability HPE-NonStop (Tandem) compute platform.
• Administer and support HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems.
• Perform system configuration, upgrades, patches, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor system health, capacity, availability, and performance.
• Partner with application teams for deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
• Support disaster recovery (DR), business continuity, and high availability architectures.
• Implement system security policies, user access controls, and auditing.
• Analyze and design technical solutions to address business needs.
• Troubleshoot systems to increase quality.
• Identify, investigate, and propose solutions to technical problems.
• Develop, test, and modify software to improve efficiency of internal operating systems.
• Provide technical support for issues surrounding software/hardware failures and the like.
• Provide technical expertise within Information Technology Projects.
• Prepare and maintain necessary documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor’s in computer science, information systems or another related field.
• Hands‑on experience supporting HPE NonStop systems.
• A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
• Experience with NonStop capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist of programming and systems analysis and related applications.
• Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
• Must be able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to set and maintain high‑quality work standards.
• Ability to lead a group.
