Senior IT Software Engineer – Scala, Akka & Java Microservices

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Scala, Akka, and Java to join a long-term contract engagement in the industrial technology / heavy equipment sector. In this role, you will build and maintain platform notification services that alert end-users to critical operational events for large-scale engines and machinery. This is a fully remote, W-2 contract position with an initial duration of 12 months.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• - Design, develop, deploy, and maintain microservices using Scala and Akka technologies (Streams, Actors, HTTP, Persistence)
• - Build robust, high-availability platform notification services at scale
• - Work independently on complex application and infrastructure components used across one or more systems
• - Drive application development focused on delivering high-value business features
• - Identify and resolve complex application and technical problems end-to-end
• - Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
