Areas of Responsibility Responsibilities You will ensure the stable, secure, and highly available operation of our IT infrastructure as well as our central platform, network, server, storage, and core services. As a technical point of contact (m/f/d), you are responsible for the entire lifecycle of business-critical infrastructure components—from design and implementation to operation and continuous optimization. Together with the team, you will further develop modern infrastructure, platform, and architecture standards and ensure they align with company-wide technology, security, and architecture requirements. You will plan, lead, and oversee challenging infrastructure, transformation, and migration projects, assuming overall technical responsibility for their successful implementation. You will develop and evaluate technical concepts, solution designs, and target architectures, taking into account scalability, performance, availability, cost-effectiveness, and future-readiness. You systematically analyze complex malfunctions and problems, derive sustainable solutions, and ensure their successful implementation. You plan, evaluate, and manage changes, taking into account risks as well as agreed-upon availability, security, and stability requirements. You evaluate new technologies, platforms, and architectural approaches in terms of technical suitability, integrability, operational reliability, and strategic value for the company. In addition, you support the implementation of and compliance with information security, compliance, and governance requirements, and participate in technical audits and certification processes. You will advise internal departments, project teams, and stakeholders on infrastructural, technological, and strategic issues and support well-informed decision-making processes. You will create and maintain audit-proof and traceable technical documentation as the basis for operations, audits, quality assurance, and knowledge transfer within the organization. In addition, you will manage, coordinate, and evaluate the services of internal and external service providers, monitor compliance with agreed-upon quality standards, and perform technical acceptance of results. With your several years of experience, you will contribute best practices, methodological expertise, and technical know-how to projects, operational processes, and technology decisions, and support the continuous development of the infrastructure environment. Job Requirements Profile You hold a bachelor’s degree in (Business) Computer Science, have completed further training as a technician (m/f/d), or possess a comparable qualification You have several years of professional experience in a comparable position You are familiar with the operation of highly available server, storage, and virtualization platforms You are well-versed in network and firewall architectures as well as IT/OT segmentation and zoning concepts Technical security measures such as hardening, access control, and logging in IT/OT environments are part of your daily routine Ideally, you already have experience with KRITIS control systems as well as availability, redundancy, and failover concepts in security-critical environments Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 rounds out your profile Compensation & Benefits Why RheinNetz This position is compensated at Pay Grade 12 in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Utility Companies (TV-V). For a full-time position, this corresponds to a gross annual salary of approximately 72,000–98,000 euros (depending on professional experience and qualifications). In addition to the standard salary, our employees receive numerous special benefits, such as additional variable compensation—depending on the company’s earnings—in the form of bonuses and incentives, as well as a company pension plan worth 8.7% of the respective gross annual salary.
