Impact You’ll Make

As a Senior Mainframe Engineer you will collaborate with global teams and have the opportunity to make a significant impact through:

• Support installation, configuration, and ongoing operation of software components across mainframe environments, including user support for loading regression files and testing components.
• Lead and manage relationships with mainframe vendors for upgrades, maintenance windows, and downtime, supporting government‑related work requiring timely delivery.
• Develop, maintain, and support CICS and batch caller applications, troubleshooting and debugging issues in collaboration with downstream teams and clients.
• Perform performance testing and tuning of components to optimize processing speed and memory usage.
• Design, program, and support Java applications using industry‑standard practices and collaborate with technical writers to create install manuals and user guides.

Your Skills and Expertise

Minimum qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university and six (6) years of software development experience, **or**
• • High School Diploma/GED or higher and ten (10) years of software development experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree, **and**
• • Experience supporting and working within IBM’s mainframe environment.
• • Five (5) years of mainframe administration experience.
• • Ten (10) years of software engineering experience on the mainframe.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed include:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with five (5) years of professional experience.
• Experience maintaining mainframes (installs, upgrades, patches, configuration, tuning, partitioning).
• Experience with mainframe technologies (COBOL/VSAM, BAL, OS/JCL, CICS, TSO, MVS, SCLM source control, etc.) and proficiency in Java.
• Working knowledge of Java (OSGI bundle), object‑oriented design, design patterns, and IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, or Visual Studio.
• Proficiency with configuration management and build automation tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ant) and relational databases (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL).
• Experience with health information systems and familiarity with Agile Scrum.

Location and Travel

Remote. May include up to 5% domestic travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized. Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.

Compensation and Benefits

For U.S. applicants only: Expected compensation $106,000 – $145,750 (base + variable incentive). Onboarding

New employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on‑site onboarding during the initial days of employment. Travel arrangements and related expenses will be coordinated and paid for by the company.
