Senior Manager, AI & Data Consulting - Financial Services (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior Manager, AI & Data Consulting – Financial Services (m/f/d) to help leading financial institutions turn their AI ambitions into measurable business value. You will work with senior business and technology leaders to define AI and data strategies, shape target architectures and operating models, and lead complex transformation engagements. This is a senior client-facing role requiring strong consulting judgement, financial services experience, technical credibility and the ability to independently own client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Advise financial services clients on AI and data strategies linked to business outcomes
• Independently lead complex consulting engagements from problem definition through delivery
• Translate business, regulatory and technology challenges into actionable roadmaps
• Lead senior stakeholder workshops across data readiness, governance, architecture and AI enablement
• Define data governance frameworks, operating models, semantic layers and target data architectures
• Provide leadership across metadata, lineage, data quality, observability and data products
• Lead multidisciplinary consulting and engineering teams and take accountability for delivery quality and client outcomes
• Build trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders
• Shape proposals, client opportunities and follow-on engagements
• Mentor consultants and architects within the practice

Requirements

• Extensive experience in data strategy, data architecture, AI enablement or related consulting roles
• Strong track record delivering complex data or AI programs for financial institutions
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture, governance and modern data platforms
• Good understanding of AI, generative AI and the data foundations required for enterprise AI adoption
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, quality, semantic models and data products
• Ability to combine executive-level strategy discussions with architecture and implementation topics
• Proven ability to independently lead client engagements and make decisions in ambiguous situations
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and team leadership skills
• Commercial experience in solution shaping, proposals and business development
• Fluency in German and English
• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience
• Nice to have Data mesh and federated governance experience
• Nice to have Semantic technologies, ontologies or knowledge graphs
• Nice to have AWS, Azure or GCP experience
• Nice to have Databricks, Snowflake or similar platforms
• Nice to have Experience with generative or agentic AI solutions
• Nice to have Relevant architecture, cloud or data management certifications
