Senior Manager, Commercial Finance (m/f/d) - Hamburg

The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance is part of the eight-person Northern Europe Finance team, responsible for a sub-team of three Commercial Finance Specialists. The purpose of the function is to work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with cluster stakeholders to drive and impact cluster business performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial and commercial support to drive performance and influence the delivery of the commercial result.
• Provide actionable insight to key forums based on risk, opportunity and sensitivity.
• Support Market Finance teams with performance improvement interventions.
• Set financial and operational KPIs and drivers.
• Approve business cases.
• Be part of the core teams of strategic projects within Cluster/Market (e.g., investments, new category/channel/product creation and launch) and provide analysis.
• Provide ongoing coaching to strengthen the Market Finance team’s performance.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience (at least 5 years) in commercial finance/finance business partnering, analysis and financial reporting and/or finance consultancy.
• Ideally experience from retail, fashion or FMCG industry.
• Enjoy working with senior stakeholders/executive management and the challenges this presents.
• Be able to communicate, collaborate, challenge and counsel relevant stakeholders on financial decisions, whilst at the same time enjoying “hands‑on working” in the engine room and being not afraid of “getting your hands dirty.”
• Passion for and patience with large data sets and exceptional analytical skills, with a strong understanding of data across multiple sources and ability to combine numbers with strategy and financial insight.
• Build broad‑based business relationships across the organization; skillfully influence peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas; proactively surface and resolve conflict with minimal noise.

• Organization and time management skills; prioritizing (based on impact), planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high‑level goals.
