Senior Manager, EMEA Employee Relations (m/f/d)

Reporting to the Director, EMEA Employee and Labour Relations, the Senior Manager will provide Employee Relations support to Germany and Austria, and will be gradually expanded to support multiple company locations across the European Region.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations and manage cases concerning people‑related issues, including HR policy violations, performance management, disciplinary matters, conduct management, and discrimination or harassment claims.
  • Provide counsel and facilitate prompt, effective resolution of workplace conflict in alignment with BMS policies, local law, and business needs.
  • Consult and coach managers and people leaders on employee relations matters.
  • Offer advice and guidance on HR practices and policies.
  • Partner with the Employee Relations Lead to conduct investigations, research policies, prepare documentation, and recommend and implement resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal or external counsel and labour consultants as required.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance in all employee relations activities.
  • Build effective relationships with business stakeholders to promote strong employee relations.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners and other HR functions to maintain high levels of employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality throughout conversations and investigations, handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Help the company operate within current local employment laws to maintain a reputable employer brand.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen while remaining objective.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while engaging several HR Business Partners and business units.
  • Work remotely with overseas locations via phone or video call as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 3 years of HR business partner or Employee Relations experience in Germany.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • Experience with local employee representative bodies, works councils, or trade unions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge of Employee Relations in other European countries.
  • Additional European language skills.

Work Environment

Employees may choose to work remotely up to 50 % of the time, with flexibility to select days that align with collaboration needs.
