Senior Manager Employee Communication (f/m/d)

In this role, you drive the global internal communication strategy to inform, engage, and connect employees across locations. You’ll shape how strategy, change, and culture are conveyed, working closely with HR, IT, and local teams. You create multi-format content and empower middle management with practical tools to communicate effectively. This position sits within Group Communications & Investor Relations and offers impact across a transforming organization. You’ll join a collaborative, cross-functional team at our Heidelberg headquarters with a strong focus on culture and transparency.

• Develop and implement a coherent internal communication strategy aligned with corporate strategy, culture, and transformation
• Improve and manage internal channels and formats, including the global employee app
• Plan and run internal communication campaigns with local teams on topics like sustainability, digitalisation, health & safety, and change projects
• Create high-quality content for internal channels (employee app, intranet, newsletters, videos, internal events)
• Enable middle management as key communicators by providing ready-to-use content and toolkits
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and country organisations to ensure consistent and timely messaging
• Share best practices and support local communicators to strengthen the internal communications community
• Monitor reach and engagement, derive recommendations for continuous improvement

• Degree in communications, journalism, media management, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience in internal/employee communication, corporate communications, or a comparable role in an international environment
• Strong experience conceptualizing and implementing internal communication strategies and campaigns
• Proven track record in content creation across formats with engaging storytelling
• Familiarity with digital internal channels and platforms and an interest in improving employee experience
• Ability to translate complex topics into understandable, motivating messages for diverse groups
• Excellent German and English writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple internal stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative with a strong sense for culture, engagement, and transparency
