Senior Manager, Procurement Team Lead NPI(m/w/d)

About the job

We are seeking a Project Purchasing Team Lead to manage a team of Project Buyers supporting multi‑platform New Product Introduction (NPI) programs across Carrier Climate Solution Europe. The role ensures strong purchasing execution and alignment with engineering, product line, operations, and category management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Buyers.
  • Foster collaboration across multi‑site and cross‑functional environments.
  • Ensure operational excellence and customer focus.
  • Oversee project‑related purchasing activities following the Carrier Product development process.
  • Ensure achievement of target costs, launch timelines, and competitive objectives.
  • Support RFQs, negotiation strategies, and supplier selection decisions.
  • Coordinate purchasing deliverables with R&D, SQD, PLM, Industrialization, and Operations.
  • Review project status, risks, and supplier readiness to support program milestones.
  • Ensure a structured handover from project phase to serial production purchasing.
  • Implement best‑practice processes, templates, dashboards, and reporting routines.
  • Ensure adherence to Carrier processes (Supplier Award Process, PPAP, quality requirements).
  • Support supplier audits, tooling orders, sample orders, and budget approvals.
  • Drive supplier performance and resolve issues in collaboration with SQD.
  • Manage contractual compliance and purchasing documentation accuracy.

Who you are

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical), or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in guiding and developing project teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical abilities and robust problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience working in dynamic, global, and matrix‑oriented organizations.
  • Fluent German and English; French or Polish is a plus.
