Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager with a proven track record of delivering Hyperscale Data Centre projects. This is a leadership role requiring a technically strong mechanical commissioning professional who has progressed from a hands‑on engineering background into commissioning management.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical commissioning function, driving commissioning strategy, managing specialist vendors, and ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical systems throughout all commissioning stages (L1‑L5).

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical commissioning function across large-scale Hyperscale Data Centre projects, overseeing all commissioning activities from L1‑L5.
• Develop and drive commissioning strategies, ensuring successful delivery against programme, quality and safety objectives.
• Provide expert technical leadership across Mechanical Building Services, including HVAC, ventilation and critical mechanical systems.
• Manage and coordinate specialist commissioning vendors, ensuring best practice, technical compliance and efficient project execution.
• Work closely with clients, consultants and project teams to resolve technical challenges, maintain project milestones and deliver successful commissioning outcomes.
• Drive high-performance teams through strong leadership, collaboration and a proactive approach to commissioning excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree or recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Relevant commissioning or mechanical engineering certifications are advantageous.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Manager or Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager on Hyperscale Data Centre projects.
• Previous hands‑on mechanical engineering experience before progressing into commissioning leadership.
• Demonstrable experience managing commissioning activities through L1‑L5.
• Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical Building Services, HVAC, ventilation and critical mechanical infrastructure.
• Experience leading specialist commissioning vendors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes, integrated systems testing and project delivery.
