Senior Motion Planning Engineer – Robotics

I'm working with an exciting robotics company in Munich looking for a Senior Motion Planning Engineer to develop the algorithms behind how their robots move, plan and interact with the real world.

You'll be working directly on physical robotic systems – taking algorithms from simulation through to deployment on real hardware.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop advanced motion planning and trajectory generation algorithms
• Work on trajectory optimisation and collision avoidance
• Develop planning solutions for complex robotic manipulation
• Integrate planning algorithms with perception and control systems
• Optimise robot behaviour for dynamic, real-world environments
• Test and deploy algorithms directly onto robotic hardware

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with ROS / ROS2
• Strong background in motion planning or trajectory optimisation
• Knowledge of robot kinematics and dynamics
• Experience with optimisation-based or sampling-based planning
• Previous experience working with real robotic systems

Experience with MoveIt, MPC, OMPL, reinforcement learning or simulation would be highly relevant.
