Senior Platform Engineer, Backend

Stellenbeschreibung:

Develop and enhance NestJS backend services, APIs, and file-processing pipelines
Design event-driven workflows using RabbitMQ
Own service integrations, API contracts, and event schemas within a microservices architecture
Develop and optimize PostgreSQL data models and high-performance database queries
Define technical designs and make architectural decisions for new platform features
Work on permissions, document services, and shared infrastructure
Ensure multi-tenancy and configuration-driven solutions
Improve reliability, observability, testing, and operational stability
Support other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching
Collaborate with frontend engineers while maintaining a clear backend and platform focus
Promote small, reviewable changes, explicit technical contracts, and high code quality
Use Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and similar AI tools for development, testing, refactoring, and documentation
Establish pragmatic AI-assisted engineering practices within the team

Requirements

Several years of backend experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and modern API-based architectures
Experience with production microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, data modeling, and designing high-performance database schemas
Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and quality-focused software development
Ability to lead technical initiatives, make architecture decisions, and coach engineers
Excellent English skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
Nice-to-have: experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or in a similar platform ownership role
Nice-to-have: RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, or other messaging and event systems
Nice-to-have: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or modern cloud and platform engineering setups
Nice-to-have: OIDC, Keycloak, Okta, or similar identity and access management solutions
Nice-to-have: multi-tenant SaaS platforms, regulated industries, or AI-assisted engineering
