Senior Power Systems Engineer

The Role

Due to continued growth, our client is looking for experienced Power Systems Engineers with expertise in transmission system operations and grid security.

You will contribute to national and international projects focused on renewable energy integration, power system reliability, operational efficiency, and the future development of electricity networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and define power system operational principles.
• Develop and validate network models.
• Perform steady-state studies, including load flow and short-circuit calculations.
• Carry out dynamic stability assessments, including frequency and voltage stability analysis.
• Conduct grid code compliance and connection studies.
• Support assessments of grid reliability, security of supply, capacity calculations, balancing, and operational planning.
• Provide technical input into client projects and support the development of new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in power system operations, grid security, and renewable energy integration.
• Strong understanding of transmission systems, balancing, and modern grid technologies.
• Ability to translate complex technical data into clear insights and recommendations.
• Experience using power system simulation tools such as PowerFactory or PSS/E.
• Knowledge of German, Dutch, and/or French would be advantageous.
