Senior Procurement Specialist (m/f/d)

In this role you drive strategic procurement for R&D and functional teams, partnering with suppliers to unlock value. You lead high-impact sourcing projects and negotiate favorable terms for substantial spend. You’ll shape local sourcing strategies and ensure compliant, efficient execution through SAP/ERP. You’ll contribute to procurement transformation and support the Head of Procurement as needed, with opportunities to mentor others and work on international projects.

• Manage complex indirect procurement for R&D and functional units as a key partner to strategic suppliers
• Lead high-value sourcing projects and negotiations to optimize costs and contracts
• Develop local sourcing strategies and decision frameworks for cost reduction and value creation
• Operate and optimize SAP/ERP-based procurement systems to ensure compliant ordering
• Drive procurement transformation, ERP rollouts, process templates, and guideline improvements
• Act as escalation point for operational issues and support the Head of Procurement
• Optionally coordinate day-to-day operations and mentor junior team members
• Support cross-functional collaboration to meet project demands

• 5-7+ years of purchasing experience
• Proven track record in complex sourcing projects, strategic negotiations, and high spend volumes
• Experience or interest in project management (ERP rollouts, process design)
• Solid experience with MS Office; SAP experience is a plus
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills
• Advanced analytical, negotiation, and change-management skills
• Proficient in German and English
