Senior Product Technology Specialist – LED Lighting (m/f/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Responsibilities

You will work at the intersection of customer applications, technology, and commercial success, helping shape how machine vision lighting solutions are applied in real-world environments. You will be deeply involved in complex customer challenges, working alongside Sales and engineering teams to translate application requirements into robust, scalable solutions.

Main Tasks

  • Provide on-site application support and technical guidance during evaluations and implementations
  • Act as a technical lead in complex customer engagements and strategic opportunities
  • Translate real-world requirements into structured technical specifications and solution architectures
  • Support Sales in pre‑sales activities, technical discussions, and solution validation
  • Contribute to technical positioning in competitive situations
  • Capture and translate voice of customer into actionable insights for product and technology decisions
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, R&D, and the Application team

What makes this role different

  • This is not a typical lab or support role
  • Strong customer‑facing component with regular on‑site presence, primarily within the Europe region, with occasional international travel
  • Focus on real‑world applications, not theoretical concepts
  • High level of ownership in strategic opportunities
  • Technical decisions have a direct impact on commercial success

What success looks like

  • Customers trust you as a technical partner, not just a supplier
  • Complex opportunities are structured and de‑risked early
  • Solutions are not only technically sound, but scalable and repeatable
  • Sales teams are enabled with clear technical direction and confidence

Your Job Profile

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Electronics or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in machine vision, optics, illumination, or related technical fields
  • Strong background in application engineering, systems engineering, or technical customer‑facing roles
  • Deep understanding of image formation, lighting, and optics
  • Experience working directly with customers in industrial environments
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into practical, scalable solutions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in German and English
