Senior Project Manager - Data Centres

As Senior Project Manager, you drive growth and delivery for Arup's Data Centre practice in Germany. You connect German capabilities with Europe-wide networks, translating technical strength into compelling propositions for clients. You lead multidisciplinary teams across feasibility, planning, design, construction and handover, while managing commercial and risk controls. • Grow the German data centre business by developing a focused plan, identifying priority clients and opportunities
• Lead business development: build senior client relationships, originate opportunities, shape pursuits, and lead proposals
• Lead and deliver complex multi-disciplinary data centre projects through full lifecycle with budget, schedule, and risk control
• Act as client-facing project lead, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing design, permitting and stakeholder interfaces
• Provide technically credible guidance on design solutions, resilience, energy efficiency, commissioning, and delivery risk
• Collaborate across Arup and with EIMEA and global data centre networks to share market intelligence and best practice

• Data centre sector experience: 9+ years delivering multi-disciplinary design projects, with potential advisory/due diligence or client-side exposure
• Academic background: Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related discipline or equivalent qualification
• Business development experience: proven ability in client relations, opportunity creation, and pursuing high-value commissions
• Commercial and technical acumen: understanding of market dynamics, fees, profitability, and ability to discuss data centre design and delivery with clients
• People and team development: experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring junior colleagues
• Language and travel: professional proficiency in German and English; willingness to travel within Germany and Europe
