Senior QA Engineer / Test Manager – Test Automation

TalentLeader Human Resources Consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer / Test Manager with strong test automation expertise on behalf of our client.

The role focuses on quality assurance for an internet platform, covering the entire testing lifecycle, from test strategy and risk-based test design to test automation, defect management, quality reporting, and release readiness assessments.

We are looking for a quality professional who can combine hands‑on test automation expertise with strategic test management, ensuring that testing efforts are aligned with business risks and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance processes for an internet platform.
• Design and optimise test cases using risk-based testing approaches and structured test modelling techniques.
• Plan and execute integration, end‑to‑end, and API tests to ensure system reliability and business process integrity.
• Build, implement, and maintain test automation solutions using appropriate frameworks and tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality validation.
• Establish and maintain quality gates, test governance processes, and release quality criteria.
• Manage test execution, defect tracking, prioritisation, and resolution in collaboration with development and business teams.
• Implement test data management strategies and use mocking technologies where appropriate.
• Prepare structured quality reports, communicate testing outcomes, and provide evidence‑based go/no‑go recommendations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to identify quality risks and resolve issues efficiently.
• Continuously improve testing processes, reduce unnecessary testing effort, and promote a sustainable quality culture.

Mandatory Qualifications & Technical Skills:

Professional Certifications

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification.
• ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst (CTAL‑TA) certification.
• Both certifications are mandatory. Candidates without these certifications will not be considered.
• Proven experience in risk‑based test case optimisation and test case modelling.
• Strong knowledge of integration testing, end‑to‑end testing, and structured test execution.
• Experience defining test strategies, quality gates, and test governance processes.
• Ability to prioritise testing activities based on business impact, technical risks, and release objectives.

Test Automation & API Testing

• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining test automation solutions.
• Experience with API test automation and automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of Robot Framework, Bruno, Playwright, or comparable testing frameworks.
• Experience with test data management and mocking technologies.

Tools & Agile Delivery

• Experience working in agile delivery organisations.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira/Xray, and Git.
• Ability to integrate testing activities into development workflows and support continuous delivery.

Quality Management & Reporting

• Experience managing defects, reporting quality metrics, and assessing release readiness.
• Ability to provide clear, evidence‑based go/no‑go recommendations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across business, development, and operations teams.

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

• Additional certifications in test automation.
• Strong analytical and systemic thinking.
• Ability to reduce unnecessary test effort by focusing on business risks rather than the sheer number of test cases.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience establishing and promoting a sustainable quality culture across teams.
