Senior R&D Supply Chain Specialist

In this role you will be the hands-on supply chain partner for fast-moving electronics R&D teams, translating evolving designs into actionable sourcing. You will help secure components, PCB fabrication, and prototyping services while mitigating risks in a high-velocity hardware environment. You’ll work cross-functionally to keep prototype and pilot builds on track amid changing requirements and supply volatility. This position offers a chance to shape sourcing strategies in a mission-critical, groundbreaking space-tech context.

• Serve as the supply chain counterpart for rapid electronics engineering projects
• Convert evolving BOMs and design changes into actionable sourcing steps
• Provide real-time insights on component availability, obsolescence, and quick-turn options
• Identify and mitigate supply risks before they block development
• Own sourcing and procurement for electronic components, PCB fabrication, PCBA assembly, connectors, sensors, RF parts, embedded modules, and custom mechanical parts
• Respond quickly to BOM updates and design pivots to minimize downtime in prototype builds
• Manage relationships with agile, quick-turn suppliers
• Find alternative components or new supply paths within hours during shortages
• Collaborate with suppliers on lead times, DFMs, and fast-track builds
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, program management, and operations to maintain build readiness
• Maintain visibility into prototype schedules, changes, and material risks
• Adopt a bias-for-action to resolve ambiguities and fix issues as they arise
• Maintain and improve sourcing documentation, cost tracking, and procurement data under fast-moving conditions
• Foster experimentation with new suppliers, channels, and tools to reduce lead times and costs

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• 5+ years in electronics sourcing, procurement, or engineering supply chain in fast-moving hardware
• Strong technical understanding of semiconductors, passive components, PCB fabrication, PCBA, embedded electronics, and prototyping flow
• Experience in startup-like conditions with tight deadlines and shifting priorities
• Hands-on ability to read schematics, BOMs, AVL, PCB stackups, and manufacturing docs
• Proficiency with ERP systems and engineering/project tools
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
